Who We Are

Lonnie Painter started the Laguna Woods Cannabis Club to help seniors understand cannabis safely and clearly.

Meet Lonnie Painter

Lonnie Painter has spent years helping seniors understand cannabis in a practical, honest way. What started as conversations with neighbors grew into the Laguna Woods Cannabis Club, a place where people could ask questions, share experiences, and learn what actually helps.

Over the years Lonnie has attended conferences, taken classes, and spent thousands of hours researching cannabis and how it affects older adults. He has paid for independent testing on flower and products he recommends, and believes seniors deserve clear information rather than sales pressure.

Lonnie became known as someone people could trust. He listens carefully, explains things in plain language, and isn't trying to sell anyone something they don't need.

The Laguna Woods Cannabis Club

Lonnie was one of the founders of the Laguna Woods Cannabis Club in 2009 after realizing many seniors were curious about cannabis but didn't know who to trust.

Over the years many members have joined to learn, ask questions, and share experiences. The club provides a place for those conversations to happen openly, and members receive updates through the club newsletter.

Members often meet informally to talk, ask questions, and learn from one another.

Who it's for

The club is for seniors, whether you've been curious about cannabis for years or you're just starting to wonder if it might help. You don't need any experience or background knowledge. You just need to be open to learning.

Most members are residents of Laguna Woods and the surrounding communities. Some joined because of a specific health concern. Others joined because they wanted a trusted source of information. All are welcome.

Why it exists

Because good information is hard to find, especially for older adults. Most of what's out there is written for a younger audience, or it's designed to push you toward a purchase. Seniors deserve better than that.

Lonnie started this club because he kept having the same conversations over and over. People who were confused, people who'd been given bad advice, people who didn't know where to turn. The club gives those people a place to go, somewhere they can ask questions, get clear answers, and feel supported.
